Lose Weight and Keep it off…
One Thought at a Time

Connections Between Mind and Body Weight Loss

In the quest for weight loss, it is essential to recognize the profound mind and body weight loss connection. The intricate connections that exist within these two realms can significantly impact our ability to achieve and sustain weight loss goals. With this understanding we unveil powerful strategies to embark on a successful weight loss journey.

Healthy weight loss doesn’t look exactly the same for each of us—and that’s why Dr. David Creel doesn’t promote a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of a rigid, restrictive diet plan, you’ll explore the food mind connection and how thoughts, emotions, and even failure can work in your favor.

Break Free from Emotional Eating

Emotional eating is when someone eats in response to emotions, rather than hunger. It often involves overeating comfort foods or binge eating as a way to cope with or avoid negative emotions like stress, boredom, sadness, or loneliness. Some key characteristics of emotional eating include:

Eating when not physically hungry
Eating much more rapidly than normal
Eating alone due to embarrassment over how much is being eaten
Feeling guilt or shame after overeating
Feeling a temporary mood boost during eating, but mood worsens again afterward
Using food as a reward, to celebrate, or to cope with emotions
Relying on food for comfort or to relieve stress and anxiety
Difficulty recognizing physical hunger cues
Frequently eating even when full

Emotional eating does not necessarily relate to the types of food eaten, but rather the motivations and emotions leading up to and during eating. A Size That Fits aids you in identifying triggers and finding healthier coping skills which are important steps to break free from emotional eating.

Stories and patient experiences will help you change your thinking and strengthen specific skills through the psychology of losing weight. Based on experience and research, these techniques and ideas  offer a psychological framework to help you lose  and maintain a new, healthier weight for the rest of your life—no matter what kind of reasonable eating style you settle into.

One reviewer says:  “I love this book! Who does not know there are a million "diet" books out there? How many of those books are written by people who really know what they’re talking about? It is crazy! We don't need more recipes you can google), we don't really need another method to cut calories... what we do need is a book that helps us figure out what is mentally getting in the way.

I felt like I was learning ways to think of things from a psychologist’s perspective...peeking into one of his sessions. It was enjoyable to read and at times I laughed out loud.”

Have you ever wondered why do i sabotage my weight loss goals? Dr. Creel helps you to understand the negative thought patterns which cause this to happen and how to fix them!
